We are excited to celebrate our 11th annual luncheon this year! Please consider supporting the mission of Hope Grows through sponsorships, attending the luncheon and survivor event, donations, or becoming a member.
Since the inception of Hope Grows, we have raised more than $494,000 to support the LIVESTRONG® cancer recovery program at the YMCA of Greater Michiana and cancer support services at Marie Yeager Cancer Center, funded through Corewell Health Foundation Southwest Michigan. Together they offer a continuum of care to thousands of patients and families recovering from cancer, those fighting cancer, and those at risk - regardless of ability to pay.
The 12-week LIVESTRONG program provides a “small group” exercise program designed for adult cancer survivors focused on improving physical, mental, and social health. Participants work with Y staff trained in supportive cancer care to achieve their goals such as building muscle mass and strength, increasing flexibility and endurance, and improving confidence and self-esteem. The Marie Yeager Cancer Center of Corewell Health provides a centralized location for cancer care services, including screenings, treatment and follow up care, garments, wigs, and transportation.
From the beginning, many individuals shared personal heartfelt stories of loved ones diagnosed with cancer—from detection to recovery. It is because of the impact of these programs that the Boards of Directors of the YMCA of Greater Michiana and Corewell Health Foundation Southwest Michigan have continued to endorse Hope Grows and give support and oversight to ensure the success of this event.
